The museum is located at the Wharf Station of the Talyllyn Railway, in Tywyn, Gwynedd, Wales, United Kingdom.
Admission to the museum is free of charge. Donation boxes are available should you wish to show your appreciation.

Opening hours depend on which trains are running on the Talyllyn Railway, as follows:
| Blue, Green and Pink Service (until 27 September) | 10.00 - 4.30 Daily |
| Orange and Red Service (28 September to 23 October) | 11.00 - 3.00 Daily |
